9:00 AM - 9:50 AM    Junior Tennis Beginner/Advanced Beginner: Saturdays - Junior Tennis Saturdays Fall: Ages 5 - 6
Beginner/Advanced Beginner Tennis programs will give participants a successful jump start into the game. We emphasize FUN and use a lot of games and drills to teach the age-appropriate basics of tennis. All classes will be held at the Grove Street Tennis Courts. Both our Junior and Adult programs are under the administration of Gordon Graham, former Harvard women’s tennis coach, AHS boys coach, founder of The Tennis Camps at Harvard and former women’s tennis coach at the University at Albany (NY).  The Junior After-School and Saturday AM programs will be directed by Matt Siegel. Matt is the Associate Director of GCT and has been working with us for 12 years. He also coaches the Arlington High School Boys’ Tennis Team and is doing a great job building that program as well as growing tennis in Arlington with GCT.  In addition to Saturdays, sessions are also offered to each age group on Tuesdays and Thursdays. These sessions can be found under the Beginner/Advanced Beginner After-School Program.

NFL Youth Flag Football League Come play this fast-growing sport and ideal complement to tackle football development! Our coaching and referee staff utilizes the USA Football FUNdamentals curriculum and we are an official NFL Flag League! We aim to combine technical development and fundamental techniques with safety and a major focus on fun! Our activities will prepare athletes for flag football through throwing, passing, catching, and tackling (i.e. pulling flags), while inspiring a love for running and being active. The fundamentals of body positioning, stride, proper stretching, and cool-down techniques are all covered in this unique program. Flag Football presents a unique opportunity for players to get more touches on the ball; which leads to more learning and more fun! Please note that the level of play will be novice to moderate play at the younger ages. Each session, practices, clinics and games will last between 45 minutes- 1 hour. The Summer Street Complex is located at 422 Summer Street in Arlington.  Please note that the program location is the Multipurpose Field. The original planned location was the Hill’ Hill Field, which is also located at the Summer Street Complex. The change to the Multipurpose field was so that the program has access to a lighted field.

However, the instructor is unable to offer the planned Thursday schedules. All (3) age group sessions for Thursday have been moved to FRIDAYS. Any individual registered for a Thursday session has be automatically transferred to the new Friday session. This field is located on the outfield of the Robillard Baseball Field (right side of Ed Burns Arena, field closest to parking lot entrance. The Summer Street Complex is located at 422 Summer Street in Arlington.  Please note that the program location is the Multipurpose Field. The original planned location was the Hill’ Hill Field, which is also located at the Summer Street Complex. The change to the Multipurpose field was so that the program has access to a lighted field.

Sidekick Sports After-School Soccer Classes are structured around a low pressure, fun environment with an emphasis on skill development. The goal is to become comfortable and confident with the ball while learning specific skills to then be utilized in fun but challenging games. Classes will be broken down to teach both the technical side (foot skills) as well as the tactical side (moving the ball properly to create proper fluidity), and ending with small sided games. This program is open to boys and girls who are on a high school team. It is structured to enhance players’ technical and tactical abilities, and to give players a jump start toward the high school tennis season. We emphasize the ‘team’ aspect of tennis.This session will be offered on (2) different days; Mondays & Wednesdays. Participants have the option to register for one or two sessions. Sessions for this (6) week program will begin on September 28th. Both sessions will be offered from 3:15pm-4:35pm at the Grove Street Tennis Courts. Please note we originally planned on offering (3) session, with the third session on Fridays. Unfortunately, the instructor is unable to offer the Friday session this year.
